Our Best-Selling Orthopedics Consumables Types

Electric Drill
An electric drill is a pneumatic or electric device that is used by an orthopedic surgeon to make holes in bones for fixing immobilization screws, wires, plates, implants and fitting prosthetic devices etc. If you have had a fracture, the treatment will involve ensuring all the bone parts are properly set and held together in their original position. Additionally they need to be immobilized until it heals completely on its own.
Percutaneous Vertebroplasty (PVP)
A percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) kit is a medical device set used during percutaneous vertebroplasty—a minimally invasive procedure designed to stabilize fractured vertebrae by injecting bone cement into the affected spinal segment 2. These kits typically include a trocar needle, cannula, mixing syringes, bone cement (polymethylmethacrylate or PMMA), and sometimes specialized delivery tools such as screw-in needles or inflatable balloons in hybrid systems.
Bone Cement
Bone cement is a tool used by our physicians to create an internal cast that stabilizes fractured vertebrae. It doesn't look like the wet cement you may see on the street at first. In fact, it starts out as a fine powder composed of methyl methacrylate. Methyl methacrylate is most commonly used as bone cement, but it can also be used to make resin (filling for your teeth) or some plastics.

Advantages of Electric Drill

Efficiency
The electric drills can rotate at high speed to complete surgical steps quickly and accurately. Compared with traditional manual operations, the use of electric drills can greatly shorten the operation time, reduce surgical risks, and improve surgical efficiency.
Precision
Surgical drills are equipped with a variety of precision accessories and functions, allowing doctors to precisely control the depth and position of drilling during surgery. This precision helps avoid damage to surrounding tissue and improves the safety and success rate of surgery.

Versatility
Electric drills can be used not only in orthopedic surgeries, but also in neurosurgery, dentistry and many other fields. It can be used to cut bones, clean marrow, and even perform delicate anatomy operations, providing doctors with more options and flexibility.
Adjustability
Electric drills usually have adjustable speed and torque, and doctors can adjust their parameters according to the characteristics and needs of the surgery. This flexibility allows physicians to operate on a case-by-case basis to best meet the patient's treatment needs.

Basic Principles of Electric Drill
Electric drill is precision surgical instruments primarily used in orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures. First, they create controlled holes in bones to accommodate implants, screws, or wires for fracture fixation. Additionally, assist in biopsies, osteotomies, and preparing bone surfaces for grafts. Unlike regular drills, bone drills minimize thermal damage and vibration to prevent tissue injury.
It is a high-speed rotating burr or drill bit, often powered by electric systems. To ensure safety, modern drills feature adjustable speed controls and torque limits, reducing the risk of over-penetration. Their precise, minimally invasive nature improves surgical outcomes while reducing patient recovery time.

Applications of Electric Drill
Fracture repair
Drilling holes for screws and plates to stabilize fractures.
Joint replacement
Preparing bone for implants and creating precise cuts.
Soft tissue procedures
Cutting soft tissue for exposure or debridement.
Orthopedic trauma
Drilling bone for fixation devices in trauma cases.

1. Metal allergy is disabled.
2. Elderly, osteoporosis, diabetes and other patients who are not suitable for orthopedic surgery should be used with caution.
3. The electric drill cannot be dismantled, cannot be knocked at random, so as not to affect the performance; before drilling, confirm that the drill bit is firmly fixed.
4. It is strictly forbidden to use the scope of surgical instruments; it is strictly forbidden to use the solvent that is corrosive to the equipment for wiping and immersion sterilization.
5. When using the drill bit, the water in the battery case should be protected from damage, the battery may be damaged or the electrical equipment may be short-circuited.

Bone cement's major role is to hold prosthetic implants in place, such as those used in hip and knee replacements. Bone cement improves stability and increases load distribution across the bone-implant interface by filling the gaps between the implant and the surrounding bone.
Because every patient's anatomy is different, orthopaedic surgeons might use bone cement to correct abnormalities and gaps between the implant and the bone. This procedure enhances the prosthesis' overall fit and stability, reducing stress on the surrounding bone and lowering the likelihood of implant loosening.
Bone cement has the advantage of providing instant load-bearing capacity, allowing patients to restore mobility sooner following surgery. The solidified cement offers initial fixation, allowing patients to bear weight on the replacement joint quickly after the treatment.
When used correctly, bone cement can act as a barrier, keeping bacteria from entering the joint space. This barrier minimises the danger of infection and increases the implant's lifetime.

Mixing and Application: Bone cement typically comes as a two-component system: a powder and a liquid. The powder component usually consists of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) along with an initiator, such as benzoyl peroxide, while the liquid component contains methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer and an activator, such as an amine. When the powder and liquid are mixed, a chemical reaction called polymerization is initiated. This process transforms the mixture from a viscous liquid into a dough-like consistency. The cement is then applied to the prepared bone surface and/or the implant.
Hardening Process: The polymerization reaction continues after the cement is applied, causing it to harden. This hardening process is exothermic, meaning it releases heat. The heat generated helps to further accelerate the polymerization process. As the cement hardens, it interlocks mechanically with the irregularities of the bone surface and the implant.
Bonding with Bone and Implants: It is important to note that bone cement primarily bonds mechanically rather than chemically. The cement does not truly “glue” the implant to the bone. Instead, it flows into the microscopic spaces and irregularities of both the bone and the implant, creating a strong mechanical interlock. This interlock provides the necessary stability to hold the implant in place and distribute the forces across the bone-implant interface.
Orthopedic Surgeries
Hip and Knee Replacements: Bone cement secures prosthetic components, allowing for immediate weight-bearing and mobility. It reduces micromovements, decreasing the risk of loosening over time.
Vertebral Augmentation: Used in procedures like vertebroplasty to stabilize fractured vertebrae, alleviating pain and restoring structural integrity.
Dental and Maxillofacial Applications
Dental Implants: Bone cement helps in anchoring dental prostheses, improving stability and function.
Veterinary Medicine
Animal Orthopedics: Bone cement is used in veterinary surgeries to repair fractures and secure implants in animals.
